Boston, MA
This project converted a historically significant Boston brownstone which had been divided into multiple units back into a single family residence. From the outset our goal was to dismantle the spatial restrictions this building type presents - we significantly opened the house to the rear yard, we removed and rebuilt floorplates to achieve double height spaces and we removed the bearing wall which serves to separate the circulation zone from the living spaces allowing us to make wider, more open and more public spaces.
